Also known as "turkey vulture", it is the most widespread representative of the Catartid family. It’s spread from southern Canada to the southern end of South America. It occupies a wide range of open and semi-open environments, such as subtropical forests, thickets, pastures and deserts. It’s a scavenger and feeds almost exclusively on carrion. Dimensions: 62-81 cm. Wingspan: 160-183 cm.
